Coronavirus Safety

Cheryl H.
I google a denist because I was in so much pain and my regular denist said he couldn't help me, so I came across Dr Caruso and took my chances with him. He showed so much care in every single thing he did. I said to myself "why didnt I come across him a long time ago". He did a root canal on me and he was so precise about every single step. He took time to make sure I was ok. They even called me when I got home to ensure I was ok. Also he takes this pandemic very serious. He sanitize every thing. Maybe even twice. Lol. I felt very safe in his office. I appreciate him dearly. He even put goggles on you so the light don't bother your eyes. Very good denist.

Hello All,

We are progressing and moving forward as a country, as a state, as a profession, and as a dental office.
Feels so good after these crazy 3 months.

* * We appreciate your understanding:
COVID-19 has been a difficult time for all of us. Many of you have had to wait for dental care and we appreciate your understanding while we kept our office closed to help control the spread of the Coronavirus. Your health and well-being continue to be our highest priority and we are able to open with our carefully planned and revised office procedures to minimize the risk of infection for patients and team members. Rest assured that we will take care of you like we would our own families.

* * We are taking extra measures:
For your peace of mind, we are taking numerous measures and adhering to them strictly to provide a safe dental treatment experience. Prior to your scheduled dental appointment, please visit our website MyJerseyCityDentists.com to complete your new patient paperwork. You will receive a text, email, or a phone call with our prescreen COVID-19 questionnaire. Ask us more about the new patient paperwork.

* * Reduced persons in our Waiting Room:
To keep you and our staff safe and healthy, please text or call when you arrive and wait in your car or outside the office until your scheduled appointment time. You will be screened before entering and have your temperature checked and only patients are allowed to enter the office. Patients with a fever or other symptoms will be asked to reschedule. You must wear a mask when you enter the building and practice physical distancing in common areas of the office, including the front desk. There will be no physical contact with patients except for treatment.

* * Extensive Cleaning:
We are taking every precaution to keep you safe during your dental visit. All rooms are completely sanitized before each patient is seated and public areas are cleaned and sanitized frequently throughout the day. During treatment protective eyewear and face shields are worn by everyone. All operatories have air filtration and purification units to remove particles smaller than COVID-19 viruses. Our team strictly follows CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines for Personal Protective Equipment and office sterilization. The office is cooler so you may want to bring a jacket or light blanket.

* * Maintaining Safety:
We are maintaining safety when you check in to our office and out after your appointment with clear plexiglass panels at the front desk to protect against respiratory droplets. After every transaction, the checkout desk and credit card terminal are wiped with a disinfectant. We are proceeding with an abundance of caution and we want you to feel confident that any visit you make to our office will be a safe one. We look forward to seeing you soon!

* * Community Safety:
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority in dentistry and for our practice and our infection control processes are both safe and comfortable. We can tell you about the procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and our team safe.

* * Reduced Staff:
Though we are open to serve you, we may be operating with a reduced number of staff members and our wait time during appointments and phone call on hold times may be higher than normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

* * Adhering to ADA, CDC, and OSHA and the NJ State Board of Dentistry:
The infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are strictly adhered to in our office. We follow the notifications of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued and so we can stay current in our infection control procedures.

* * Social Distancing: ( We like to call this PHYSICAL Distancing, as we are all connected socially !)
To allow for distancing, all dental treatment appointments will be spaced to allow more time between patients and you may be offered fewer options for scheduling. We will communicate with you beforehand to complete a COVID-19 screening form and we ask that you arrive on time. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancellation so that we can manage the schedule to keep you safe. When it is time for your appointment, you will notice the changes we made to protect you and our dental team.

* * Limited patients In the dental office:
For the safety of our patients and staff only the patient and, if necessary, a parent or caregiver may enter the office. Please everyone MUST wear a face mask at all times in our office except during dental treatment, and our team will wear them as well. We have hand sanitizer that we ask you to use when you enter the office and thru-out your visit Your temperature will be taken prior to the start of your treatment and we want you to know that our team’s temperatures are taken daily upon arrival to the office. In addition, you’ll be asked to rinse with 1% Hydrogen Peroxide before your treatment.

* * Website for Updates:
Due to Covid-19, there are other concerns for your dental appointment We want you to know that you are in good hands and that we have done everything in our power to keep you safe and healthy during your appointment. We do not want anyone to be afraid to visit the dentist…for any reason. For your own peace of mind, please check our website www.MyJerseyCityDentists.com to review all the safety measures we have put into place since the spread of the Coronavirus.

* * HEPA Filtration System:
As an extra precaution, we are having a Medical Grade HEPA Air Filtration system installed in each room. Though our dental team will be wearing all their Personal Protective Equipment we promise that we are still the same people you have come to trust and we will be providing the same personal care that we always have. As the cost of keeping you and our team safe during these unprecedented times is significant, we must apply a Personal Protective Equipment charge to your invoice.

* * PPE Usage:
Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 virus, we understand that you have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. To learn more about our safety precautions just ask us.

* * Additional Fee:
Every procedure we have put in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. As a result of the additional focus on Personal Protective Equipment and sanitation of the office and the added time and materials needed to ensure the well-being of all who enter our offices, a fee will be assessed to the patient, due at the time of service. We can tell you more about our safety measures.

* * Facebook or Website www.MyJerseyCityDentists.com for Policies:
We know some of our patients are a bit hesitant about returning for an appointment. Please know that we are doing everything possible to protect you when you visit our office, including practicing social distancing, spacing out appointments, using PPE, and employing other safety measures. For more information, please visit our website or Facebook page.

* * We are very concerned for everyone's safety:
Dental care is a very important part of maintaining your overall health. As we open our office we want you to feel comfortable and safe when coming in for a visit. We have done everything we can to sterilize and disinfect all surfaces, implemented the use of enhanced Personal Protective Equipment, extended the amount of time between patients, and more.

* * For Further Information, please read the May 25th update listed below.

We hope you are well and coping with these uncertain times right now.

We have been open only for emergency dental care since the NJ state of emergency started.

As of Tuesday May 26, 2020 at 500 am we, as well all dentists in NJ, are authorized to provide non-essential services as before.

We will still be available for all your DENTAL EMERGENCY needs.

That means WE ARE OPEN AS USUAL FOR ALL YOUR DENTAL NEEDS as we were before the state of emergency lock down.

We are still very much concerned about the transmission of the corona virus.

We will be excited to reopen with a "business as usual" approach as we have been in business 34 years !

Our goal is to provide a safe environment for all our patients and staff.

We are taking the necessary steps to ensure our office is surpassing all the requirements of the CDC and other government agencies and professional associations, including the American Dental Association (ADA) and the New Jersey Dental Association and the NJ State Board of Dentistry.

We are very concerned about your safety

You must wear a face mask for admission to this dental office.

We are implementing full PPE which means our doctors and staff are wearing surgical caps, goggles, face shields, surgical gowns, booties, and double gloving for each patient visit and all staff are being screened daily with temperature checks.

We have installed clear, plexi-glass barriers to protect you and our front desk staff upon registration and exiting your appointment for your protection.

We are continually sanitizing all non treatment surfaces in the office thru out the entire office.

The treatment rooms are fully sanitized after each patient visit to exceed all CDC recommendations.

When you come for your appointment we will ask you come alone as we do not want family or friends waiting in our reception lounge. We are keeping the flow of persons in the office to a minimum for your protection.

We also ask you call us at 201-434-3819 upon your outside arrival to the office (you may also text us to 201-424-5320) and we will let you know when to enter the office, again we are minimizing interactions with others.

We also ask you not have to use the restroom in the office, yet we do have the restroom sanitized after each use.

When you come in, we will ask you to answer some basic questions about your possible exposure to COVID-19 and we will take your temperature through a forehead scanning thermometer as well as fill out a COVID-19 disclosure questionnaire form for your protection.

When speaking with the doctor and staff you must wear a face mask.

The doctor will inform you when to lower your mask.

Upon entering both the main office thru the entry foyer and the dental treatment room you will be asked to hand sanitize, we will provide this for you.

Before the dental treatment portion of the appointment you will rinse and gargle with a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution to help disinfect your mouth.

We prefer a non-cash payment policy as we accept MasterCard, visa, american express, discover credit and debit cards as well as apple pay touch-less payment methods.

For your convenience we can still accept cash payments as well as popular payment plans thru Care Credit, Lending Club, Alphaeon and Lend USA for your payment convenience.

During this time, we ask that you request your emergency appointment through the Make An Appointment page on our website www.MyJerseyCityDentists.com and also please text us an appointment request to the following mobile number: (201) 424-5320.

Due to staffing limitations, the wait time for all calls has been drastically increased as we work to serve all our patients so we ask that you contact us through the website or via text message.

For your convenience, you can download and print out your patient forms at home from our website so you can minimize your time in the office.

For more information, please use our mobile number and text us.

Thank you, stay safe, and we can help!
